I often tell students that there are very few truly original ideas in advertising (or anywhere else, for that matter). Most new ad ideas are just a twist or a build on something we’ve seen before.
This calendar-coaster idea for Corona is a good example of that. The idea that any day provides its own excuse to treat yourself has been done more than once over the years. But the Corona approach takes that idea a step further. This page-a-day calendar is a beautiful piece of branded design, and the fact that each page is a coaster is just…well…thirst inducing.
